Iranian strikes hit Gulf targets, damaging ports and disrupting travel

Iran launched missile and drone strikes across the Gulf region, causing damage in Dubai and Qatar. The attacks damaged Dubai's airport and its iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, and smoke was seen rising from Dubai's main shipping port. In Qatar, missiles were shot down over the capital Doha.

The strikes forced major airports like Dubai and Doha to close, stranding nearly 100,000 British travelers. Maritime traffic was also heavily disrupted, with hundreds of ships anchoring in the Gulf. Several oil tankers were damaged in the Strait of Hormuz, and one seafarer was killed. Separately, a drone strike injured one person at a port in Oman.
