El Mundo · August 2026

• Uses ironic or mocking descriptors for Trump's actions (e.g., 'salón de baile', 'océano América')
• Highlights controversies and legal setbacks (court orders, scandals, 'polémicos')
• Frames Trump's decisions as risky or self-serving (e.g., 'vacía sus arsenales', 'deja expuestos a sus aliados')
• Quotes Trump directly but often in contexts that expose contradictions or absurdities

Some headlines report Trump's actions neutrally (e.g., #12, #15), and the outlet does not use overtly hostile language like 'dictator' or 'liar'. However, the selection and framing—especially the repeated focus on whimsical or legally blocked initiatives and strategic costs—suggests a mildly critical stance. The entity's own aggressive quotes (e.g., #19, #20) are reported without endorsement, but the outlet's ironic tone toward Trump's proposals (e.g., renaming oceans, ballroom) tips the balance to -1.

• Reports on multiple parties (PP, Vox, PSOE) without consistent favoritism
• Uses direct quotes and attributed statements from various actors
• Mixes domestic political conflict, sports, culture, and international news
• Occasional evaluative language but not systematically directed at ES as an entity

The entity 'ES' (Spain) is a country, not a single actor; coverage spans domestic politics, sports, and international affairs. Headlines show internal political rivalries (PP/Vox vs PSOE) but the outlet does not consistently frame Spain positively or negatively. Some headlines use critical language about government actions (e.g., 'tibieza' with Morocco), but this is issue-specific, not a stance toward the country as a whole.

• Frames Trump's actions as escalatory or risky (e.g., 'vuelve a escalar', 'abre un frente', 'vacía sus arsenales')
• Highlights vulnerabilities and contradictions (e.g., 'muestra la vulnerabilidad del bono', 'deja expuestos a sus aliados')
• Uses neutral-to-critical verbs for Trump's claims ('anuncia', 'apela') without overtly delegitimizing language
• Occasionally reports on Trump's internal troubles (e.g., fundraising operation, conspiracy machine) with a skeptical tone

The bundle focuses on the US government and Trump administration rather than the country as a whole; stance is toward the US as represented by Trump. Some headlines are neutral factual reports (e.g., 10, 11, 20), and the outlet does not use consistently hostile vocabulary like 'regime' or 'brutal'. The negative stance is driven by framing of Trump's policies as risky or contradictory, not by direct condemnation of the US itself.
