Israel carries out military strikes on targets in and around Tehran

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of air strikes against targets in Tehran and southern Iran. The IDF posted video of a strike on an Iranian airfield and said it targeted a transport fleet belonging to the Quds Force, an elite unit of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Reports from the scene described heavy smoke over Tehran after strikes on fuel oil depots. Iranian state media claimed its forces intercepted a number of missiles over the capital. The IDF also stated it began intercepting missiles following a new launch from Iran.
