There is a disagreement between Iran and Israel over whether a ceasefire agreement includes the conflict in Lebanon. Iran says Israeli attacks on Lebanon violate the ceasefire and has threatened to pull out of the deal if they continue. Israel says the ceasefire does not include its war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
French President Emmanuel Macron urged both sides to include Lebanon in the ceasefire. He spoke with Iran's President Pezeshkian, who said the deal does include a halt to attacks on Lebanon. Israel has backed a reported two-week pause on strikes against Iran proposed by President Donald Trump, but says Lebanon is excluded from that pause.
