Israeli army has seized Lebanon's key Ali al-Taher ridge from Hezbollah

In southern Lebanon on 4 September 2026, the Israeli army seized the key Ali al-Taher ridge from Hezbollah, according to France 24. The IDF said it was striking Hezbollah targets after an explosive drone was launched at troops in south Lebanon, and Israeli soldiers intercepted a drone attack.

Lebanon reported at least 3 killed and over 20 hurt in the Israeli strikes. Al Jazeera's Arabic service reported 5 killed, and Al Arabiya reported 3 killed in evening strikes.
