Iran’s Qalibaf meets Sultan of Oman after Switzerland talks

In the Gulf region on June 23, 2026, Iran's Qalibaf met the Sultan of Oman after talks in Switzerland. Iran and Oman discussed management of the Strait of Hormuz and agreed to form a joint committee on its future administration. In a joint statement they said they will study charging service costs for Hormuz transit, while KBS World reported that Oman and Iran affirmed a commitment to toll-free passage.

The Iranian delegation left after a short trip to Oman. Al Jazeera noted that Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan while Qalibaf visited Oman.
