Russian foreign minister criticizes Western alliances and discusses Ukraine proposals

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov gave a series of statements criticizing Western institutions. He said NATO, the EU, and the OSCE are outdated and accused the United States of seeking total control over global energy supply routes.

Lavrov also discussed diplomacy around Ukraine, stating that Russia had accepted a US proposal regarding the crisis, which he said should lead to a resolution. He noted, however, that the US has been slow to lift sanctions against Russia.
