US arrests relatives of slain Iranian general after revoking their residency

US authorities have arrested relatives of Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian military commander killed in a 2020 US drone strike. The arrests in Los Angeles followed the revocation of their US green cards, or permanent residency permits.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out the operation. Officials stated the individuals were detained for supporting the Iranian regime.
