The military government's leaves out that domestic and foreign observers found no fraud on a scale that could have changed the 2020 result; that it controls perhaps half the country's territory; that its aircraft have struck schools, hospitals, displaced people's camps and, days after an earthquake, villages in the disaster zone; and that its commander is sought by the International Criminal Court's prosecutor over the expulsion of the Rohingya.
The National Unity Government's leaves out that Aung San Suu Kyi's government defended the army against the charge of genocide of the Rohingya in 2019; that resistance units have assassinated local officials, teachers and suspected informers; and that it commands only part of the forces fighting in its name.
The ethnic armed organisations' leaves out that several finance themselves from jade, drugs and the fraud compounds on the border; that some conscript, and that the Arakan Army is accused of killings and expulsions of Rohingya in the territory it holds; and that two of the strongest handed towns back to the army when China told them to.
The neighbours' leaves out that their engagement supplies the aircraft, the fuel and the revenue with which villages are bombed, and that the normality they are returning to is one in which the war goes on.
