Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kyrgyzstan on 30 August 2026 for the SCO summit and a state visit. Xi left Beijing for state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt. The Kyrgyz president and his wife welcomed him at the airport in Bishkek, and Kyrgyzstan received him with traditional ceremonies.

Xi said China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation is entering a 'golden period' of rapid development. Putin and Iranian President Pezeshkian are also set to attend the summit in Kyrgyzstan, with Pezeshkian visiting on Monday, according to Dawn and IRNA.
