Storm Nils hits France, killing one and cutting power to 850,000 homes

Storm Nils swept across southern France, bringing high winds and flooding. The storm resulted in one death and left approximately 850,000 homes without power. Several regions, including Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne, were placed under red alert.
