US military operation in Caracas aims to capture Venezuelan leader

A US military operation took place in Caracas, Venezuela. According to Pentagon official Hegseth, around 200 US troops entered the city with the objective of capturing Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

Venezuelan authorities report that at least 24 of their security officers were killed during the operation. Witnesses reported heavy gunfire and shots near the presidential palace and the Fuerte Tiuna military base, causing panic among residents.
