Multiple Grass and Bushfires Reported Across Australia

In late September 2026, Australian emergency services responded to a series of grass fires and bushfires across several locations, including Minimbah, Mount St, Whitton, Sherwood, Peak Hill, Hilldale, and Ku-ring-gai Chase. A fire was also reported in Essendon.

Separately, firefighters were described as "shook up" after a planned burn destroyed a fire tanker.
