British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under mounting pressure from within his own Labour Party to resign. Several cabinet ministers and a junior minister have publicly called on him to set a timetable for his departure, following poor results in recent local elections.
Starmer has so far refused to step down, telling cabinet members he intends to "get on with governing." The revolt has split the cabinet, with some senior figures backing him while others, including minister Khalid Mahmood, demand a clear exit plan. Junior minister Miatta Fahnbulleh has already resigned, urging Starmer to set a departure date.
