Western Oil Firms Sign Deals to Develop Iraq's Kirkuk Oilfield

BP and ConocoPhillips have signed agreements with Iraq to develop the Kirkuk oilfield. ConocoPhillips will acquire a 42% stake in BP's Iraq Kirkuk oil venture. The deals also include developing alternative shipping routes and reviving a pipeline through Syria. Western oil companies see a 'fantastic' future in Iraq.
