Paris trial begins over deadliest Channel migrant crossing

Fourteen men went on trial in Paris on September 8, 2026, over a Channel crossing five years ago that left more than 30 people dead. The defendants are suspected migrant smugglers. It was the deadliest migrant crossing disaster in the Channel. The trial is being held in Paris.
