Russia launches massive drone attack on Ukraine, killing three people

Russia launched one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, firing nearly 1,000 drones at Ukraine over a 24-hour period. The daytime strikes killed at least three people, wounded dozens, and encircled the capital, Kyiv.

NATO scrambled fighter jets in response to the scale of the attack, which is seen as a signal that Russia is ramping up its spring offensive. Separately, Russia's FSB security service claimed it had disrupted a Ukrainian plot to send explosives disguised as shoe insoles to Russian soldiers.
