WATCH: Israeli airstrike hits southern Lebanon

Lebanon, 27 August 2026: Israeli warplanes struck southern Lebanon, according to Anadolu Agency and Al-Ahram. The IDF said Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at troops overnight, and that it launched strikes on southern Lebanon afterward. Lebanese state media said an Israeli strike killed a woman in the south, and Beirut said she was newly wed. Al Jazeera and The National reported that Israel also struck Syria despite US-brokered diplomacy.
