Japan changes rules to allow weapons sales to other countries

Japan has officially changed its rules on exporting weapons, allowing it to sell arms to other countries. This is a major shift from its long-standing policy of severely restricting such sales.

The new rules remove most of the previous limits on exporting lethal weapons. This opens the door for Japan's defense industry to enter the global arms market for the first time.
