Turkey's Erdogan Weighs Deeper Ties With China-Russia-Led SCO

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey could deepen its ties with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the security bloc led by China and Russia, and would consider full membership. He stressed that Turkey's outreach to Russia and China does not mean turning its back on the West. Erdogan also noted the special status of Russian tourists in Turkey. According to him, Turkey's SCO push does not mean abandoning its Western partners.
