Flávio Bolsonaro repeats false claims about electronic voting machines

Flávio Bolsonaro, a Brazilian senator and son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, used false data about electronic voting machines during a meeting with foreign ambassadors in July 2026. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) publicly contradicted his claims, using the same wording it had used against his father in 2022. This violated an agreement that Valdemar Costa Neto, head of Bolsonaro's Liberal Party (PL), had signed with the TSE. Separately, Senator Ciro Nogueira told Flávio that his Progressive Party (PP) would remain neutral in the upcoming presidential election, frustrating the PL's coalition hopes.
