SC orders Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa International Hospital for treatment

On 18 August 2026, Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan to be moved from prison to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for treatment, amid concerns about his health. He has been in jail for three years. The court also allowed family visits, and the transfer was described as temporary.

PTI leaders welcomed the order. Gavaskar and Kapil Dev had raised concerns about Khan's health before the court stepped in.
