Bushfires and Flooding Hit Eastern Australia in October 2026

In October 2026, fire services in eastern Australia responded to bushfires and grass fires at several locations, including Swans Crossing, Ewingar, Lionsville, Back Creek, Chambigne, Bowen Mountain and Caparra. Non-urgent alerts were also issued for the Chambigne area.

In Victoria, a dairy farm was flooded while grain growers welcomed the wet weather as a rainy weekend set in. On the Gold Coast, bluebottles the size of a fist washed up on beaches.
