Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made several critical statements about Western countries and Ukraine. He said the European Union has "completely discredited itself" in efforts to find peace in Ukraine, claimed the U.S. has not responded to a peace initiative from Russian President Vladimir Putin, and stated that Ukraine is unwilling to negotiate.
Lavrov also commented on other international issues, saying the U.S. and Israel now realize their actions against Iran were a miscalculation, and that the Palestinian issue is being forgotten because of the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran. Separately, Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told Lavrov that Turkey is ready to host another round of talks between Russia and Ukraine.
