EU leaders say bloc must adapt to a more coercive world order

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas have called for the EU to adapt to a more chaotic and coercive global environment. Von der Leyen stated the bloc can no longer rely solely on a 'rules-based' international system to counter threats. She also identified Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as political obstacles within the European Council.
