US, Japan and Philippines Hold South China Sea Drills

The United States, Japan and the Philippines conducted joint military exercises in the South China Sea. China's PLA Southern Theater Command criticized the Philippines for stirring up trouble in the region and carried out routine patrols in the South China Sea during the trilateral drills. The exercises have raised tensions over the disputed waters.
