AI company holds back new model over safety concerns

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, says it has developed a new AI system that is too powerful to release to the public right now. The company's CEO, Dario Amodei, has decided to hold it back due to safety concerns.

Amodei has also made comments about AI's impact on jobs, suggesting the technology could eliminate more than half of all current jobs. Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services, which has invested billions in Anthropic, says its investments in multiple AI companies are not a conflict of interest.
