US sells Venezuelan oil for first time under new arrangement

The United States has completed its first sale of Venezuelan oil under a new deal, worth about $500 million. The sale happened shortly after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

In a separate action, U.S. authorities seized another oil tanker linked to Venezuela. This seizure occurred just before a meeting between President Donald Trump and Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado.
