North Korea fires missiles into the sea, dismisses South Korea's diplomatic outreach

North Korea has fired multiple ballistic missiles into the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan. South Korea's military detected and reported the launches.

At the same time, Pyongyang dismissed hopes for diplomacy from Seoul, indicating a rejection of recent outreach efforts. The launches come as North Korea has also unveiled new military capabilities, including a cluster-bomb missile and electronic warfare systems.
