Syrian army and Turkey target Kurdish YPG and PKK forces in northern Syria

The Syrian army launched military operations against Kurdish YPG and PKK forces in Aleppo, Syria. The operations included entering the city of Tabqa and taking control of an Aleppo district.

Turkey condemned an attack on its flag by the YPG and offered to support Syrian forces. A cease-fire was announced in Aleppo after clashes, but some YPG fighters reportedly refused to leave the area.
