Trump announces trade deal with India, lowering tariffs on some goods

President Donald Trump announced a new trade deal with India. The agreement lowers US tariffs on certain Indian goods, such as laptops, from 50% to 18%.

Trump also claimed India pledged to have "zero-tariff barriers" and would stop importing oil from Russia. However, a Trump aide noted India will maintain some protections for its agricultural sector. Moscow stated it has not heard from India about stopping Russian oil purchases.
