Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's former Shah, visited Berlin this week. He met with members of the German parliament (Bundestag) and called for regime change in Iran. During his visit, a protester threw a tomato at him.
While some politicians, like CDU's Armin Laschet, suggested Pahlavi could lead a transition in Iran, others, such as CDU's Johann Wadephul, refused to meet with him. The German government kept its distance from Pahlavi, who criticized the government during his stay.
