India's Supreme Court Questions Voter Form Changes and Rajya Sabha Picks

In India in October 2026, the Supreme Court asked the Election Commission for records about changes to Form 6, the voter registration form. Chief Justice Surya Kant said the court never approved a modified version of the form. The court also told Delhi Police that it needs to create fear in the minds of people who commit crimes against women.

Separately, the BJP announced eight candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh. Hardeep Puri and Smriti Irani were not on the list. The party's list includes two women candidates.
