US withdraws troops from Nigeria after anti-IS operation

The United States has withdrawn some of its troops from Nigeria following a joint operation against the Islamic State (ISIS). The decision was announced by the head of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). While the military presence is reduced, the U.S. will continue intelligence cooperation with Nigeria. The withdrawal comes after the completion of a specific anti-IS mission.
