Rubio skips Ukraine meeting with European leaders in Munich

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio did not attend a meeting of European leaders supporting Ukraine, known as the Berlin Format talks, during the Munich Security Conference. Instead, his schedule included separate meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and China's top diplomat, Wang Yi.

Reports indicate Rubio discussed plans for ending the conflict in Ukraine with German officials and later met with Zelenskyy. The decision to skip the collective European meeting drew attention, as it occurred while Russia launched strikes in Ukraine that left thousands without power.
