Drought Forces Water Restrictions Across Most of France

France has placed nearly 70 percent of the country under water restrictions amid record heat and drought, government officials said. Almost two-thirds of France's groundwater tables are below normal levels. Separately, French officials reported that a record 230 migrants crossed the English Channel in a single small boat.
