India negotiates with Iran to secure passage for ships through Strait of Hormuz

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held talks with Iran to coordinate a solution for the safe passage of Indian-flagged ships through the Strait of Hormuz. He stated there is no blanket arrangement, but that India secured passage for two tankers through diplomatic coordination. Jaishankar emphasized the countries' existing relationship and that Iran received nothing in exchange for the passage.
