Iran and US exchange strikes in Gulf region

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it attacked the US Fifth Fleet headquarters and an American airbase, following what it described as violations near the Strait of Hormuz. The US military reportedly struck an oil tanker near Iran's Qeshm Island and targeted the island itself.

Iran also fired missiles at Kuwait and Bahrain, where US Patriot air defense systems were activated. No casualties were reported from the interceptions. The IRGC warned that the "era of hit and run is over," signaling a more direct confrontation.
