Rubio says US strikes on Iran were to prevent Israeli attack

Senator Marco Rubio stated that the United States launched strikes against Iran to preempt a planned Israeli attack. He suggested the US action was intended to prevent an escalation that could have threatened American assets. Rubio also indicated that while strikes have occurred, the US is not currently planning to deploy ground forces in Iran.
