Trump mocks Macron and revives Greenland purchase idea at Davos

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Donald Trump mocked French President Emmanuel Macron's sunglasses during a speech. In the same address, Trump also revived his past idea of the U.S. purchasing Greenland, stating he would remember if Denmark refused to negotiate.

Macron has recently called for Europe not to submit to U.S. leadership, arguing the U.S. seeks to subordinate the continent. In response to Trump's Greenland comments, French media reported that France has called for NATO military exercises to be held in Greenland.
