Abbas Loyalists Win Palestinian Local Elections, Including in Gaza

Palestinian local elections were held in a Gaza community and the West Bank, with authorities calling them a success. Loyalists of Palestinian leader Abbas won the elections, including some seats in the Gaza city of Deir al-Balah. Voter turnout was low, in the 20 percent range, and Hamas did not participate.
