Israel expands military operations in southern Lebanon, strikes Beirut

Israel has declared large parts of southern Lebanon a combat zone and carried out a new wave of airstrikes, including a 'precise strike' on the Lebanese capital Beirut. The military also issued evacuation orders for areas in southern Lebanon before launching the attacks, which targeted Hezbollah infrastructure.

The escalation has caused a fresh wave of displacement in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Iran launched missiles at a U.S. military base, and an Israeli soldier was killed and two wounded during operations in northern Israel. The fighting continues along the border between Israel and Hezbollah.
