Russia launches largest missile and drone attack on Ukraine this year

Russia launched its largest missile and drone attack of the year against Ukraine, targeting energy infrastructure across the country. The strikes damaged power facilities and left thousands of people without heat during freezing temperatures of around minus 20 degrees Celsius.

The attack occurred a day before planned peace talks brokered by the United States. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the barrage of drones and missiles, describing it as the worst assault on Ukraine's power sector this year.
