Explosions and gunfire reported in Kabul amid border clashes

Loud blasts and gunfire were heard in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital. Afghan forces reportedly opened fire on Pakistani aircraft flying over the city, as clashes between the two countries' forces intensified along their shared border.

Afghanistan claimed it had repelled Pakistani strikes. The Taliban, which governs Afghanistan, reported that people had been killed following what it called Pakistani attacks inside Afghan territory.
