Asian stock markets plunge on fears of Iran war escalation

South Korean stocks suffered their worst single-day drop on record, with the Kospi index falling sharply. Other Asian markets, including Japan and Thailand, also fell significantly as rising oil prices and fears of a ground war in Iran triggered automatic trading halts. The sell-off reversed recent gains and turned previously popular Korean stock investments into losses.
