China faces criticism at UN over Iran and Middle East votes

China abstained on a UN move against Tehran and expressed regret after a Russia-backed Middle East ceasefire resolution failed to pass. The United States and its allies accused China and Russia of blocking action to protect Iran at the UN Security Council. China's envoy stated the country was disappointed the ceasefire draft was not adopted.
