Apple developing automatic iPhone lock feature to foil snatch thieves

In the US technology sector on 8 June 2026, Apple used its annual WWDC conference to announce iOS 27, macOS 27 'Golden Gate', iPadOS 27 and visionOS 27, built around a new AI version of Siri. Times of India reported that the new Siri is powered by Google Gemini. Apple also announced a softer 'Liquid Glass' design, a dedicated Siri app, systemwide dictation and AI editing features in Photos.

Apple also redesigned Screen Time and child controls, and added a feature to the Health app that can tell users if they are in perimenopause.
