Swiss President Guy Parmelin to Step Down at Year-End

In Switzerland in October 2026, President Guy Parmelin announced that he will leave the government at the end of the year. He said his departure is meant to make way for new blood. Parmelin has served as a member of the Swiss government and currently holds the presidency.
