Japan increases gasoline subsidies and releases oil reserves to lower fuel prices

The Japanese government is increasing gasoline subsidies to 48.1 yen per liter and plans to release oil from its national reserves to curb rising fuel prices. This comes in response to market instability linked to tensions in the Middle East. The measures aim to bring gasoline prices down to around 170 yen per liter.
