Trump threatens to fire Federal Reserve chair if he doesn't leave

President Donald Trump has threatened to fire Jerome Powell, the chair of the Federal Reserve, if Powell does not leave his position on the central bank's board. Trump said he would take this action next month if Powell remains in his role.

This threat comes as the Supreme Court is set to rule on a case concerning the Fed's independence from political pressure. Trump has also refused to halt a separate criminal probe into renovations at the Federal Reserve.
